Expansion of Early Warning Systems, Maintenance of Drainage Facilities, and Slope Reinforcement Implemented
Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province has newly designated and announced four areas as "landslide-prone zones" to prevent damage caused by heavy rainfall and localized downpours during the summer.
"Landslide-prone zones" are designated to identify areas at high risk of landslides due to heavy summer rainfall and localized downpours in advance and to strengthen preventive measures.
The four newly designated locations are: ▲San 104-6, Buk-ri, Namsa-eup, Cheoin-gu (689㎡); ▲165-1, Mapyeong-dong, Cheoin-gu (495㎡); ▲San 4-1, Unhak-dong, Cheoin-gu (2,208㎡); and ▲San 4-1, Moksin-ri, Wonsam-myeon, Cheoin-gu (1,766㎡).
In these designated areas, customized preventive projects will be implemented, including the expansion of early warning systems, maintenance of drainage facilities, and reinforcement of slopes to prevent disaster risks and damage.
A city official stated, "We will strengthen our management system with a focus on preemptive prevention to create a safe forest environment where citizens can feel secure."
