76-Year-Old Father Makes Bouquet in Wedding Hall Parking Lot for Daughter... One Photo Brings Bride to Tears

The story of a 76-year-old father who handmade a bouquet for his daughter in a corner of the parking lot on her wedding day is gaining attention online. Wanting to use the skills he had honed while running a flower shop 30 years ago, he decided to make the bouquet himself. Concerned that the flowers might wilt during the long trip, he chose this approach.

76-Year-Old Father Makes Bouquet in Wedding Hall Parking Lot for Daughter... One Photo Brings Bride to Tears A 76-year-old father made a boutonniere himself in the parking lot on his daughter's wedding day. Thread captured by choimintwo

On November 12, a post titled "The Bouquet My Dad Made for Me" was shared on a social networking service thread. The author, identified as Ms. A, posted a photo of her father sitting on the floor of the wedding hall's underground parking lot, handcrafting the bouquet on her wedding day.

Ms. A's father wanted to use his experience from running a flower shop long ago to make his daughter's bouquet himself, but he faced one concern: he worried that the fresh flowers might wilt during the journey from their home in Jecheon, North Chungcheong Province, to the wedding venue in Seongnam.

Hoping that his daughter's bouquet would remain as fresh as possible, he loaded fresh flowers and floral tools into the car, dressed in work clothes, and headed to the venue. Upon arrival, he immediately sat down on the floor of the underground parking lot and began making the bouquet on the spot.

Ms. A wrote, "My dad, not satisfied with just prepping the bouquet in advance, packed plenty of fresh flowers and tools into the car and came to the wedding hall dressed in clothes he didn’t mind getting dirty. He sat in a corner of the underground parking lot, anxiously making the bouquet, worried he might be late."

Ms. A carried the bouquet her father made as she walked down the aisle that day. The boutonniere pinned to the groom's suit-traditionally worn on the groom’s lapel-was also handmade by her father.

After the wedding, Ms. A later saw photos of her father at work and shared, "My older sister, brother-in-law, niece, and even my younger sibling's boyfriend were all sitting around together. I didn't cry during the ceremony, but seeing the photos brought me to tears."

She added, "The bouquet was beautiful, but the groom's boutonniere and the corsages for the parents were so lovely that I could truly feel my father's love, which made my heart ache even more."

The post received over 500 comments and became a hot topic online. Netizens responded with touching messages such as, "He must have wanted his daughter to look the most beautiful in the world on this day," "I can feel a father's love, and I can't stop crying," and "This is the most heartwarming wedding story I've ever heard."

Ms. A commented, "My father doesn't run a flower shop anymore, but he did 30 years ago. I will definitely show him all these heartfelt comments. Thank you for bringing so much joy to my parents' everyday lives."
