Joo Gwangdeok, Mayor of Namyangju, attended the "2025 Jeong Yak-yong Childcare Curriculum Expo" held on the 13th and stated, "Just as Jeong Yak-yong embodied the spirit of practical learning, Namyangju City will prioritize action over words. We will pay even closer attention to the childcare environment so that each and every child can grow up to become a dignified citizen."
On this day, Namyangju City in Gyeonggi Province successfully concluded the "2025 Jeong Yak-yong Childcare Curriculum Expo" at the indoor gymnasium of the Namyangju Sports and Culture Center, sharing the achievements of the Namyangju-style public childcare model amid the enthusiastic interest of more than 3,000 citizens.
The "Jeong Yak-yong Childcare Curriculum" is a Namyangju-style public childcare model launched by the city in 2024. It is a regionally tailored curriculum that embodies Jeong Yak-yong's philosophy of practical learning and compassion for the people through play-based childcare. Teachers independently research and plan, and children learn and grow through play, developing a new childcare culture.
Namyangju City supports on-site implementation through various administrative measures, such as lending "Jeong Yak-yong Play Kits" and operating the "PLAY Jeong Yak-yong" program.
This expo was organized to share these achievements and to provide a space for communication and learning where childcare professionals, parents, and young children could come together.
Seventy-six local daycare centers currently implementing the Jeong Yak-yong Childcare Curriculum participated in the event, exhibiting childcare programs, educational materials, teaching aids they developed themselves, and children's works. In addition, the "PLAY Jeong Yak-yong" experience booth prepared by the play experience facility "Sangsang N Playground" and the "Connect and Play! Family Festival" were held simultaneously.
The Family Festival offered a wide variety of experiences and attractions, including traditional games, creative activities, an AR character-building experience bus, photo zones, bubble and balloon performances, and a mini fish-shaped pastry food truck, receiving an enthusiastic response from families attending the event. Notably, students from nearby universities majoring in early childhood education participated as volunteer staff, further enhancing the warm atmosphere at the venue.

At the "Excellent Childcare Program Awards Ceremony" held on the same day, the mayor's award and the chairperson's award were presented to 40 daycare centers selected through the first and second rounds of evaluation, making it a meaningful occasion to celebrate their research achievements and efforts.
Through this expo, the city has developed the Jeong Yak-yong Childcare Curriculum into a signature childcare culture festival that citizens can experience firsthand, and it plans to continue spreading a childcare culture that reflects Namyangju's unique history and regional identity.
