“Best” in Cadastral Resurvey, “Excellent” in Land Administration and Road Name Addresses
Leading the Way in Smart Land Administration
Gijang County has once again demonstrated its administrative innovation capabilities.
In the '2025 District and County Land Administration Comprehensive Evaluation' organized by the city of Busan, Gijang County swept all categories, becoming the only one among 16 districts and counties to win awards in every section.
This evaluation is not simply a competition of achievements. It comprehensively examines the planning, execution, and outcomes of overall land administration, simultaneously assessing the direction of smart land administration and residents' satisfaction.
Gijang County was recognized for both administrative efficiency and innovation, being selected as the 'Best Institution' in the cadastral resurvey category, an 'Excellent Institution' in land administration, and an 'Excellent Institution' in the road name address category. In particular, its achievements in the 'Cadastral Resurvey Project' stood out.
Gijang County used drones to precisely analyze cadastral inconsistencies and proactively established an implementation plan for the early launch of the 2026 project. This is evaluated as a case that goes beyond simple data maintenance, serving as a model for digital-based land administration.
In the land administration category, the county focused on accuracy and reliability by improving the verification rate for individual official land prices, strengthening the management of real estate brokerage businesses, and inspecting spatial information security. It also demonstrated its expertise and systematic approach by ranking first in the sample inspection of cadastral surveys.
The road name address category also saw notable changes. Communication-centered administration targeting future generations and on-site staff, such as road name address education for youth and practical training for new resident officers, was highly praised. Rather than limiting itself to simple tasks like sign maintenance, the county expanded to 'lifestyle administration' that spreads the social value of spatial information.
Jung Jongbok, Mayor of Gijang County, stated, "This achievement is the result of all employees working together to realize smart, resident-centered land administration," adding, "We will further strengthen the protection of residents' property rights and daily convenience through accurate and prompt administration."
