Kim Dongyeon, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, will visit the scene of the vehicle crash at Jeil Market in Bucheon, which resulted in over 20 casualties, on November 13.
The Gyeonggi Provincial Government announced that Governor Kim plans to visit Jeil Market in Wonjong-dong, Ojeong-gu, Bucheon, at around 3 p.m. on this day to inspect the accident site and direct support measures.
Before departing for the site, Governor Kim instructed the city of Bucheon and the fire department to ensure that medical treatment for the injured proceeds without disruption, to monitor the situation for any additional casualties, to conduct safety inspections to support the restoration of damaged facilities and prevent further damage, and to provide psychological support to merchants and citizens who witnessed the accident.
Earlier, at approximately 10:55 a.m. on the same day, a truck driven by a man in his 60s crashed into Jeil Market, resulting in the deaths of two women in their 70s and causing serious or minor injuries to 18 others.
The fire authorities classified the 18 injured as follows: three as critical patients (with impaired consciousness), six as emergency patients, and the remaining nine as non-emergency patients.
