Iksan City to Host "Iksan Mireuksaji Mediofondo Competition" on the 15th

Over 1,400 Cycling Enthusiasts to Participate

On November 13, Iksan City in North Jeolla Province announced that it will host the "2025 Iksan Mireuksaji Mediofondo Competition" on the 15th, with about 1,400 cyclists from across the country participating.

This event is organized and hosted by the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Cycling Federation. It will be held in Iksan for the first time, and "Medio Fondo" refers to a medium- to long-distance cycling competition.


Participants will start at Mireuksaji and ride a 95.7-kilometer course that connects Iksan’s major attractions, including the Wanggung-ri Historic Site, the National Food Cluster, the Iksan Jewelry Theme Tourism Complex, and the Ungpo Windmill Road.


The city expects that this competition will serve as an opportunity to widely promote Iksan’s history, culture, and beautiful natural scenery to cycling enthusiasts nationwide.


The organizers will assign safety personnel to each section and implement traffic control measures to ensure the safety of participants and the smooth operation of the event.


On the day of the competition, November 15, temporary traffic restrictions will be in place along the race route from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.


A city official stated, "This event will be an opportunity to widely promote the beauty and cultural tourism resources of Iksan," adding, "We will thoroughly manage the event to minimize any inconvenience to citizens and do our utmost to ensure a safe and successful competition."
