A Special Journey with Companion Animals
Goseong County in South Gyeongsang Province will host the "Nampalang-gil Goseong Walking Festival with Companion Dogs" on November 22 at the Sunam Retention Pond Ecological Park and along the Daedok Nuri-gil trail.
This event has been organized as a unique walking tour experience in Goseong, in line with the growing trend of "pet-friendly travel," which is emerging as a major tourism trend for 2025. Participants will be able to walk and enjoy activities with their dogs.
The festival will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., hosted by the Korea Healing Association and sponsored by Goseong County. Set against the backdrop of the Sunam Retention Pond Ecological Park and a section of the Nampalang-gil Course 31 on the Korea Dulle-gil, participants can walk with their dogs through beautiful natural surroundings and enjoy a variety of hands-on activities.
The participation fee is 5,000 won per person, and a total of 200 participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration is available through the Goseong Marine Healing Trail website.
Participants who pay the registration fee will receive a snack package for their dogs and can take part in the "MISSION 4 Program," which consists of four activities: a demonstration of professional dog training, instant photo shooting, a dart-throwing experience, and making a dog face badge. Those who complete all missions will be awarded a premium eco-bag as a souvenir. Additionally, participants who share their event reviews on social media or the website will receive a dog waste bag case and refill set.
Separately, there will be a variety of programs available for general visitors who have not paid the participation fee. Anyone can enjoy the instant photo booth, social media certification events, and snack booths offering cotton candy, slushies, and popcorn. There will also be agility performances and behavioral training demonstrations by professional dog trainers, which all visitors can watch.
This open-format program is designed to encourage participation from both local residents and tourists, and is expected to bring added vibrancy to the event.
This walking festival is expected to go beyond a simple pet event by enhancing the brand value of Goseong County through tourism content linked to local resources. It aligns with Goseong County's vision of becoming a "city of healing and wellness tourism" and is also expected to have a positive impact on fostering a healthy culture of pet companionship.
County Governor Lee Sanggeun stated, "This walking festival will be an opportunity to widely promote the beautiful nature of Goseong County and its healthy pet culture through tourism content with companion animals. I hope many people will create precious memories with their family-like dogs and fully enjoy the charms of Goseong."
