The Korea Tourism Organization announced on the 13th that it held the 2025 K-Tourism Travel Mart for the first time in Mexico City, the capital of Mexico, from November 10 to 11.
The organization established its Mexico City branch in November last year and has been carrying out various promotional and marketing activities to attract tourists from Central and South America. This event was also organized as part of those efforts.

By September this year, the number of visitors to Korea from Central and South America reached approximately 143,000, an increase of more than 47% compared to the same period last year. Among them, the number of Mexican tourists surged by over 85% compared to 2024, reaching 63,000, demonstrating a steep growth in visitors. The Korea Tourism Organization organized this event to convert the enthusiasm for Korean culture, such as K-pop and K-dramas, in Mexico into demand for travel to Korea, and to showcase various aspects of Korea, from K-culture to educational training and medical tourism.
The Travel Mart, held on November 10 at the InterContinental Hotel in Mexico City, attracted more than 100 organizations, including 26 Korean tourism industry institutions, local Mexican travel agencies, and medical tourism agencies. Notably, five universities, including the National Autonomous University of Mexico, participated, leading to active discussions on educational tourism and short-term study abroad programs. On the 11th, during the 'Medical Tourism Day,' over 100 people, including members of Mexico's affluent clubs and local influencers, were invited. Nine Korean medical wellness institutions provided tailored consultations in areas such as health checkups, cosmetic surgery, and traditional wellness.
Over the two-day event, more than 600 business consultations were conducted, and 20 business agreements were signed.
In conjunction with this Travel Mart, the Korea Tourism Organization also signed business agreements with the Mexico City Tourism Department and the Nuevo Le?n State Tourism Department to expand cultural and tourism exchanges. Looking ahead to the North and Central America World Cup in 2026, the organization plans to carry out K-Tourism promotional campaigns and joint promotions during that period.
Kim Jonghun, Acting Head of the International Tourism Division at the Korea Tourism Organization, stated, "Through the K-Tourism Travel Mart leveraging K-beauty, education, and other aspects of K-culture, we have created a catalyst for increasing demand for travel to Korea from Central and South America. Interest in Korean culture is strong in Latin American markets, including Mexico, and the growth in visitors continues. We will further accelerate efforts to attract tourists by highlighting Korea's unique strengths, combining K-culture and medical services."
