The Busan Broadcasting and Video Forum (Chairman Kim Chiyong, Director of External Cooperation at Dong-Eui University) and the Busan Youth Policy Research Institute (Chairman Kim Deokyeol) held the "3rd Global Broadcasting and Video Symposium" on November 6 at the Ocean Hall of BNK Busan Bank Headquarters in Nam-gu, Busan.
Supported by the Busan Metropolitan Government, the event was attended by Kim Chiyong, Chairman of the Busan Broadcasting and Video Forum, General Director Gong Jihun, Kim Deokyeol, Chairman of the Busan Youth Policy Research Institute, Lee Jaeseong, Chairman of the AI Strong Nation Committee under Candidate Lee Jaemyung, Park Jinhyun, Director of KBS Busan Broadcasting Station, as well as corporate and university forum advisory board members, lead professors, and over 200 participants in total.
As the only symposium in the Busan and Gyeongnam regions specializing in broadcasting and video, this event, themed "Expansion," aimed to promote the production of global video content based in the region. It provided broadcasting and video-related professionals from industry, academia, and government, as well as students and the general public, with knowledge and insights into the broadcasting and video sector.
On the 6th, at the Ocean Hall of BNK Busan Bank Headquarters in Nam-gu, Busan, Kim Chiyong, chairman of the Busan Broadcasting and Video Forum, delivered a greeting at the 3rd Global Broadcasting and Video Symposium.
On this day, Busan Mayor Park Hyungjoon delivered a congratulatory message via video, while Lee Jaeseong, Chairman of the AI Strong Nation Committee under Candidate Lee Jaemyung, Park Jinhyun, Director of KBS Busan Broadcasting Station, and Kim Deokyeol, Chairman of the Busan Youth Policy Research Institute, also offered congratulatory remarks.
In his opening address, Kim Chiyong, Chairman of the Busan Broadcasting and Video Forum, stated, "With the evolution of AI technology, changes in platforms, and the acceleration of human connections, the media content industry is entering a new era in ways that are different from before. In the creative city of Busan, this will be an important opportunity for the broadcasting, video, and gaming industries to come together with industry, academia, government, and citizens to discuss the future of media content and its direction."
Chairman Kim emphasized, "I hope that the shared knowledge and insights from this symposium will broaden the future of media and serve as a starting point for your creativity and ideas to lead new expansions."
Kim Deokyeol, Chairman of the Busan Youth Policy Research Institute (CEO of Dunam Chemical), donated sponsorship funds to support young people working in the broadcasting, video, and media content sectors, stating, "I hope this will help prevent the outflow of young people from Busan and, furthermore, assist them in pioneering their careers."
The symposium began with a keynote lecture by Hwang Buyoung, CEO of Brandim & Partners and former Director of Urban Branding for Busan City, followed by two sessions featuring expert lectures. Under the theme of "Expansion," the event re-examined the role of media content as it expands from traditional broadcasting and video content to areas such as e-sports and branded advertising.
In the first session, Kim Doyeon, CEO of Studio Target (producer of numerous films and dramas, including Hitman 2 and God's Orchestra), and Kim Inho, Head of Strategic Planning at Sandbox Gaming (SBXG), delivered lectures. In the second session, Nam Suhee, a broadcasting writer (winner of the 2024 MBC Broadcasting Entertainment Awards for Current Affairs and Culture Writer, writer for Wednesday Food Talk and Late Night Ghost Talk), and actor Jeon Nomin (appeared in Love ft. Marriage and Divorce, and The Woman Who Ate the Sun) gave presentations.
On the 6th, the 3rd Global Broadcasting and Video Symposium is being held at the Ocean Hall of BNK Busan Bank Headquarters in Nam-gu, Busan.
