Introducing Works by Changdong Residency Artists Until the 23rd
Featuring Three Korean Artists and Four International Artists

The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art will host "Changdong Residency Report 2025: Again-Scene," an exhibition introducing the work of domestic and international resident artists at the Changdong Residency, from November 14 to 23, 2025.

A total of eight participants from five countries will take part, including three Korean artists from the 23rd class of the Changdong Residency-Lee Eunwoo, Jeon Jiin, and Choi Seongim-as well as four international artists: Sofia Albina Novikoff Unger (Denmark), Marie-Lyn Kipli (Estonia), Siim Preiman (Estonia), and Kaya Clara Zhu (Austria), along with one international researcher, Zanete Liekite (Latvia).

This year's residency outcome exhibition goes beyond simply reflecting on each artist's past. It presents an ongoing process of recalling fading landscapes and traces, creating new meaning from a contemporary perspective. The participating artists-three from Korea and four from abroad-reconstruct layers of time through the materiality of objects, traces of labor left on the body, and the circulation of memory and resources.

Each work reveals scenes where place, memory, and social structures intersect, evoking lost time and space. Through these moments of "looking back," the exhibition aims to offer a narrative of new sensations where past and present, individual and society, converge.

On the opening day, November 14, an open studio event will be held in conjunction with the residency outcome exhibition. The studios of the artists and the international researcher will be open, providing a platform to share and exchange contemporary artists' research and creative processes. The open studio will run from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and is open to all.

Kim Seonghee, Director of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, stated, "Changdong Residency is a space where artists intersect their time and experiences, exploring new possibilities for creation. The exchanges and experiments that take place here will present narratives of time, memory, and place, each reconstructed through the artists' unique perspectives. Through this exhibition, I hope audiences will encounter the diverse currents and sensibilities of contemporary art."
