Yeongam County in South Jeolla Province hosted a meaningful festival to honor the hard work of farmers and promote the excellence of local agricultural products.

The county announced that on November 11, it successfully held the "30th Farmers' Day Commemorative Event" at the Yeongam County Gymnasium, attended by more than 1,500 members of farmers' organizations and local residents.

This event was organized to foster unity and pride among farmers, and to promote the quality and flavor of "Yeongam Rice," the region's signature agricultural product.

The event consisted of two parts: the first was a commemorative ceremony, and the second was the "Farmers' Festival." The first part featured a video themed "Great Jeonnam Farmers" and an awards ceremony recognizing contributors to agricultural development.

In the distribution and processing sector, Kim Euijoon, Director of Dam-A Agricultural Corporation, was honored. Seo Yunho, Vice President of the Jeonnam Chapter of the Korea Advanced Farmers Federation, and Yang Sanghyun, Head of the Yeongam Branch of the Korea Poultry Association Jeonnam Chapter, were also recognized for their contributions to agricultural development.

Notably, this year's event was enriched by being held in conjunction with the "Rice Waste Star" campaign. On-site experience programs such as the "Premium Yeongam Rice Gimbap Rolling Demonstration," "Rice Cake Pounding and Garaetteok Making," and a "Rice Tasting Zone" received enthusiastic responses from visitors.

During the second part, the "Farmers' Festival," farmers and county residents took to the stage to showcase their singing talents. The excitement peaked with performances by invited singers and a prize drawing. Local farmers' organizations participated in both the preparation and operation of the event, making it a showcase of farmers' unity and the strength of the local community.

Woosunghee, Governor of Yeongam County, stated, "It is deeply meaningful to celebrate the 30th Farmers' Day together here in Yeongam. I am grateful for the dedication of all farmers who have protected agriculture and rural communities. We will continue to do our utmost to enhance farmers' pride and promote sustainable agricultural development."
