The special prosecutor team led by Min Joongki, which is investigating various allegations against First Lady Kim Keonhee, will summon and question former President Yoon Sukyeol on November 26. The special prosecutor’s office plans to summon and question Kim Keonhee on the 24th, and then proceed to investigate former President Yoon two days later.
On November 12, a representative from the special prosecutor’s team stated at a regular briefing, "Yesterday, considering former President Yoon’s schedule, we sent a summons to the warden of the Seoul Detention Center, requesting that he appear as a suspect at 10 a.m. on the 26th."
The representative added, "The summons specifies charges including violations of the Public Official Election Act. We are preparing with the expectation that the investigation can be completed in a single session, if possible." The special prosecutor’s team is expected to summon Kim Keonhee on the 24th to investigate allegations of influence peddling, and will seek to determine whether former President Yoon was involved.
Additionally, the special prosecutor’s team announced that, in connection with the 'Roger Vivier lobbying allegations,' the spouse of People Power Party lawmaker Kim Ki-hyun has been booked as a suspect. Kim’s wife previously admitted that she gave a Roger Vivier clutch bag to Kim Keonhee after Kim Ki-hyun was elected party leader in March 2023. A representative from the special prosecutor’s team stated, "Kim’s wife has been booked as a suspect for violating the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act, but her summons has not yet been scheduled."
Furthermore, the special prosecutor’s team has obtained an arrest warrant and issued a wanted notice for Mr. Lee, the main operator in the ongoing Deutsche Motors stock manipulation case, who is currently on the run. The team explained that it has requested cooperation from the National Investigation Headquarters to apprehend the suspect.
Mr. Lee is known as the individual who introduced Buddhist monk Jeon Seongbae to Kim Keonhee, and was identified as the main operator during the 'first phase' of the Deutsche Motors stock manipulation in 2010. The special prosecutor’s team attempted to search and seize Mr. Lee’s property last month, but he fled and authorities have so far failed to secure his custody.
