Air Force Chief of Staff Sohn Seokrak is visiting Egypt and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to discuss cooperation in the fields of defense and the defense industry.
According to the Air Force on November 12, Sohn will visit Egypt and the UAE from today until the 20th. During this visit, he plans to meet with the Commander of the Egyptian Air Force and visit the 292nd Tactical Fighter Wing of the Egyptian Air Force. In the UAE, he is scheduled to attend the Dubai World Air Chiefs' Conference, the Dubai Airshow, and the Korea-UAE Defense Industry Cooperation Reception.
Egypt and the UAE have shown interest in domestically produced fighter jets such as the KF-21 Boramae and the FA-50. Through this visit, Sohn is expected to promote the excellence of Korean fighter jets.
In addition, during his trip, Sohn will continue military diplomacy by meeting with Amr Abdelrahman Sakr, Commander of the Egyptian Air Force; Rashid Mohammed Al Shamsi, Commander of the UAE Air Force and Air Defense; as well as the Air Force Chiefs of Staff of Germany and Italy, and the Commander of the Swedish Air Force.
