The KOSPI is showing intraday strength, buoyed by net buying from institutional and retail investors.
As of 10:20 a.m. on the 12th, the KOSPI was trading at 4,135.32, up 0.70% from the previous day.
By investor type, institutions and individuals are net buyers of 191.1 billion won and 118 billion won, respectively, while foreign investors are net sellers of 321.3 billion won. In the futures market, institutions and foreign investors are net buyers of 24.1 billion won and 64 billion won, respectively, while individuals are net sellers of 87.3 billion won. In program trading, there is a net purchase of 14.5 billion won in arbitrage trades and a net sale of 220.8 billion won in non-arbitrage trades.
By sector, most industries are showing gains. Securities are up 4.81%, metals 3.12%, insurance 2.14%, entertainment and culture 2.07%, transportation equipment 1.98%, finance 1.8%, chemicals 1.55%, distribution 1.46%, pharmaceuticals 1.54%, transportation and storage 1.41%, paper and wood products 1.36%, non-metallics 0.97%, general services 0.9%, and machinery and equipment 0.78%. In contrast, electrical and electronics and medical precision sectors are slightly weaker.
Among large-cap stocks, most are rising except for Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. LG Energy Solution is up over 1%, Hyundai Motor 2.79%, Doosan Enerbility 1.02%, KB Financial Group 1.3%, Hanwha Aerospace 2.0%, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries 1.69%, Kia 3.06%, and Celltrion 4.05%. Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix are down around 1%.
The KOSDAQ index is also showing strong gains of over 1%. The KOSDAQ was trading at 896.89, up 1.42% from the previous day. By investor type, institutions and foreign investors are net buyers of 50.9 billion won and 49 billion won, respectively, while individuals are net sellers of 97.8 billion won.
Most large-cap KOSDAQ stocks are also strong. Alteogen is up 3.14%, EcoPro BM 1.89%, EcoPro 0.43%, HLB 1.12%, Peptron 3.57%, Legochem Bio 4.96%, ABL Bio 2.56%, Samchundang Pharm 0.92%, and Kolon TissueGene 6.3%. On the other hand, Rainbow Robotics is flat.
Meanwhile, in the Seoul foreign exchange market, the won/dollar exchange rate is trading at 1,464.1 won, up 0.7 won from the previous day.
