Nonsan City Works to Retain Local Talent... Vocational High School Students Tour Outstanding Companies

Nonsan City has launched an on-site job experience program aimed at boosting local youths' motivation for employment and helping them better understand outstanding local companies.

This program is part of an employment support policy designed to prevent the outflow of local talent and encourage young people to settle in the region by allowing vocational high school students to visit companies and experience real working environments firsthand.

The Nonsan City Labor-Management-Civil Administration Council announced on November 12 that it held a "Field Trip to Outstanding Local Workplaces for Local Talent" for vocational high school students in the city on November 11.

More than 50 participants, including students and teachers from Yeonmu Meister High School and Defense Aviation High School, took part in this field trip. They visited Poongsan FNS, a leading defense industry company in the region, where they learned about the company, its production processes, and main products, and toured the facilities in person.

The students had the opportunity to experience the actual working environment, gaining a vivid sense of the workplace and taking time to plan their future career paths in detail.

In addition, company representatives introduced the recruitment process, job environment, and welfare systems, actively engaging with the students by answering their questions and fostering lively exchanges.

Since last year, the city has established a "Special Committee for Priority Recruitment of Local Talent" under the Labor-Management-Civil Administration Council to expand employment opportunities for local youth and enhance corporate competitiveness through stable workforce supply.

In addition, with national funding support from the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the city is simultaneously running field trips to outstanding workplaces and capacity-building programs for vocational high school students.

On October 23 and 30, about 60 students from Chungnam Internet High School, Nonsan Girls’ Commercial High School, and Ganggyeong Commercial High School visited the HY Nonsan Plant to participate in an on-site job experience program.

A city official stated, "For this field trip, we significantly increased the number of participants to provide students with more opportunities to experience company workplaces firsthand. Based on the students' enthusiastic response, we will continue to implement various employment support policies to help local talent grow in outstanding companies within the region."
