UNICEF Korea Delivers Hope to Filipino Children with Singer Kim Jaejoong Kim Jaejoong visited Raiza's home in the slum area of Valenzuela, Philippines. UNICEF Korea Committee

The UNICEF Korea Committee (Chairman Chung Kap-young) announced on November 12 that singer Kim Jaejoong visited the Philippines to deliver hope to children facing poverty and the climate crisis, and has since returned.

This visit was part of the fundraising broadcast "Project Blue." From late September to early October, Kim Jaejoong spent five days and four nights in the Valenzuela area of the Philippines, where he met two children living in extremely difficult conditions due to severe wealth disparity and the climate crisis.

"Project Blue" is a series-type fundraising broadcast co-hosted by the UNICEF Korea Committee and JTBC, designed to shed light on the situations of children around the world suffering from the climate crisis, conflict, and disease. A total of three celebrities visit developing countries in Africa and Asia, meeting local children and sharing their vivid stories.

Kim Jaejoong met Raiza (13), who lives in a makeshift house that leaks when it rains, and Princess (13), who has been living in a shelter and taking care of her younger sibling after her home was flooded. He delivered hope to children who, despite being directly affected by the climate crisis, continue to pursue their dreams with resilience and without losing hope.

Kim Jaejoong shared his thoughts, saying, "I hope that children can freely pursue their dreams in a safe environment. I wish this visit became a good memory for the children, and I sincerely hope to meet them again soon."

Jo Mijin, Secretary-General of the UNICEF Korea Committee, stated, "We are grateful to Kim Jaejoong for dedicating his precious time and talent despite his busy schedule. We ask for the public's interest and participation in 'Kim Jaejoong's Hope Code,' which contains stories of hope delivered to children in the Philippines."

"Kim Jaejoong's Hope Code" will air on JTBC at 10:40 p.m. on Friday, December 12.
