Famous gaming YouTuber Sutak (31, real name Ko Jin-ho), who was kidnapped and assaulted by two men in the underground parking lot of an apartment complex in Songdo International City, Incheon, recently shared an update, saying he is focusing on his recovery while receiving treatment.
On November 11, through a notice on his YouTube channel, Sutak stated, "I know many of you were worried by the sudden news, but I am currently hospitalized and receiving proper treatment. Recently, I also underwent surgery for an orbital fracture."
Sutak reflected on the assault and shared his feelings about the incident. He said, "Those who saw the news at the time will know, but after being assaulted and then kidnapped, I truly thought, 'This is how I die.' I am incredibly grateful that I survived and can personally update you all like this."
He continued, "When I look at the photos taken right after I was rescued, my face was so covered in blood that it was clear they really intended to kill me. It was truly horrific," highlighting the severity of the situation. It has been reported that, in addition to the orbital fracture, he sustained serious injuries including head and abdominal contusions and a fractured ring finger.
He added, "Although the scars and aftereffects on various parts of my body will remain for the rest of my life, I believe things will gradually improve over time. Thanks to the comfort, support, and help from so many people, I am doing my best to recover."
He went on to say, "To be honest, I am still struggling mentally, but I am trying to return to my usual self. It would be too unfair and frustrating for my one and only life to be ruined by such perpetrators, so I am determined to overcome this to the end."
He also emphasized, "At this point, all I want is for the perpetrators to receive severe punishment." He concluded, "I am steadily receiving treatment to return in good health, and as soon as my body and mind are somewhat stabilized, I will be back. In the meantime, I hope all of you stay safe and healthy," addressing his fans and subscribers.
Previously, on October 26, Sutak was kidnapped by two men in their 20s and 30s in the underground parking lot of an apartment complex in Songdo International City, Yeonsu District, Incheon.
It was revealed that the perpetrators were used car dealers whom Sutak had become acquainted with after selling his car to them. After entrusting his car, Sutak received notices of unpaid fines and tolls, so he contacted them. They lured him to the parking lot, promising to pay him, then forced him into a vehicle and drove him about 200 kilometers to Geumsan County, South Chungcheong Province.
The police tracked the vehicle used in the crime through closed-circuit (CC) TV footage and arrested the suspects in a park in Geumsan at around 2:40 a.m. on the 27th, about four hours after the incident occurred. The suspects are currently in custody on charges including attempted murder.
