Protest Rally in Front of the Ministry of Justice
"Lee Should Stop Wasting Taxpayer Money and Step Down"
Song Eon-seok Pressures Jeong Sungho to Resign: "Friend, Accomplice, and Shield of Criminals"
Jang Donghyuk, leader of the People Power Party, once again pressed for a parliamentary investigation and a special prosecutor to determine whether President Lee Jaemyung bears any responsibility regarding the prosecution's decision to abandon the appeal in the Daejang-dong case on the 11th.
After holding an emergency rally in front of the Ministry of Justice building in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi Province, Jang met with reporters and stated, "The responsibility of Acting Prosecutor General No Manseok and Minister of Justice Jeong Sungho has already been revealed, as they have essentially confessed themselves." He added, "We will push for impeachment against those whose responsibility has already been established." He continued, "However, to determine whether President Lee Jaemyung is responsible, a parliamentary investigation and a special prosecutor are necessary."

Jang also labeled the prosecution's abandonment of the Daejang-dong appeal as the "Jeong Sungho Gate," emphasizing, "There were two separate reports recommending an appeal, but the Minister of Justice instructed them to 'make a careful decision.' This is a clear case of the Minister exerting improper influence over the investigation."
During the rally, Jang asserted, "The acting Prosecutor General's abandonment of the appeal once again confirms that Lee Jaemyung is at the center of the Daejang-dong case," adding, "They have essentially confessed that the appeal was abandoned solely for Lee Jaemyung, without any legitimate reason."
Jang then targeted President Lee, Minister Jeong, and Acting Prosecutor General No simultaneously, saying, "There is a saying, 'Swiwisochan,' which means that if a public official is not capable of fulfilling their duties, they should stop wasting precious taxpayer money and step down from their position." He demanded, "President Lee, Minister Jeong, and Acting Prosecutor General No should immediately resign from their posts."
Jang further commented, "Today, seeing a YouTuber affiliated with the Democratic Party having a fit at the scene, it seems clear that both the Democratic Party and Lee Jaemyung, as well as Jeong Sungho, recognize that this (abandonment of the appeal) is the signal flare for the downfall of the administration." During the rally, some YouTubers shouted slogans such as "Jang Donghyuk is a traitor" and "Go Han Donghun."
Song Eon-seok, floor leader of the People Power Party, described the prosecution's abandonment of the Daejang-dong appeal as a "death sentence for the judicial system of the Republic of Korea" and called for the resignation of Minister Jeong, who is suspected of involvement. Song criticized Minister Jeong as "a friend of criminals, an accomplice to criminals, and a solid wall for the Daejang-dong criminal group."

He continued, "Minister Jeong is known as President Lee's classmate from the Judicial Research and Training Institute, a longtime friend, and a key pro-Lee figure." Song added, "In the past, during special visits to Daejang-dong accomplices Jeong Jinsang and Kim Yong, who were close aides to President Lee, Minister Jeong advised them, 'If things continue this way, Lee Jaemyung will become president. Be mentally prepared and create a solid alibi.'"
Targeting President Lee, Song remarked, "President Lee is known for his attention to detail, to the extent that he instructed the customs drug investigation team led by Chief Prosecutor Im Eunjung to immediately include Baek Haeryong. Yet, regarding the improper pressure to abandon the Daejang-dong appeal, why has he remained completely silent?"
The People Power Party was unable to meet with either Acting Prosecutor General No, who was on leave, or Minister Jeong on the morning of the 11th. Jang criticized, "Both the acting Prosecutor General and the Minister of Justice were absent. Instead of avoiding the issue, they should stand before the people, explain themselves, and take responsibility."
The People Power Party plans to hold a large-scale rally on the central steps in front of the National Assembly main building on November 12, continuing its campaign against the abandonment of the Daejang-dong appeal. The strategy is to mobilize lawmakers, party chapter heads, and party members to the National Assembly for an all-out struggle against the ruling bloc.
