"Secure National Funding" ... Acting Mayor Jang Geumyong of Changwon Visits National Assembly Again to Address Key Issues

November has been an exceptionally busy month for Jang Geumyong, Acting Mayor of Changwon City in South Gyeongsang Province.

"Secure National Funding" ... Acting Mayor Jang Geumyong of Changwon Visits National Assembly Again to Address Key Issues Jang Geumyong, Acting Mayor of Changwon City, is meeting with Kim Jongyang, Member of the National Assembly.

On the morning of November 10, following a previous visit on the 5th, Acting Mayor Jang visited the National Assembly once again to meet with Kim Jongyang, a Member of the National Assembly representing Uichang-gu from the People Power Party. During the meeting, Jang requested cooperation on securing national funding and other key local issues. He also visited the offices of Park Hyungsoo, a People Power Party lawmaker serving as a secretary of the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts, and Lim Mi-ae, a Democratic Party lawmaker and committee member, to formally propose the allocation of national funds.


During the meeting with Assemblyman Kim Jongyang, Acting Mayor Jang Geumyong requested policy support for the comprehensive preliminary feasibility clearance of the 6th National and Local Road Construction Plan to connect development hubs for balanced regional growth. He also emphasized the urgent need to proceed swiftly with the construction of the Myeonggok-dong to Dong-eup Northern Ring Road (Phase 2) and the procedures for establishing the National Industrial Complex for Defense and Nuclear Power Convergence.


Additionally, in meetings with Assembly members Park Hyungsoo and Lim Mi-ae of the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts, Acting Mayor Jang explained the necessity of national funding for key Changwon City projects, including: the establishment of an AI and big data-based advanced medical and bio device research and manufacturing center; the development and demonstration support infrastructure for the e-mobility motor remanufacturing industry; the Multicultural Diversity Festival MAMF (Migrants’ Arirang Multicultural Festival); and the construction of National Road No. 5 from Geoje to Masan. He actively requested that these projects be included in the national budget.


During this visit to the National Assembly, Acting Mayor Jang Geumyong stressed the need for support at the parliamentary level to secure national funding and resolve local issues. He urged all staff in the offices of local National Assembly members to work together to secure national funding until the government budget bill is finally approved in December.
