Siheung City in Gyeonggi Province, together with the Siheung Office of Education and the Siheung City Council, will jointly host the '2025 Siheung Future Education Forum' from November 28 to December 8.
Held under the theme of 'Siheung, a Sustainable and Cooperative Educational City: Vision and Innovation Strategy,' this forum will take place across multiple venues, including Siheung ABC Happy Learning Town, Seoul National University Siheung Campus, Siheung Eco Center, as well as online.
The main forum will be held on November 28 at Siheung ABC Happy Learning Town. Focusing on the vision of 'An Educational City Where Ordinary Children Are Happy and Sustainable Coexistence Thrives,' the forum will present the achievements of Siheung's education system and outline future directions for development. This year, moving away from the traditional activity report format, discussions will center on key topics such as ▲ narrowing educational gaps and inclusive Siheung education (educational welfare), and ▲ Siheung-style education innovation, bioindustry, and future education (future vision).
The educational welfare session will propose directions for integrated platform and data-driven support to address blind spots and overlapping support caused by fragmented and disconnected information, in line with the intent of the 'Student Customized Integrated Support Act,' which will be fully implemented next year. The session will also address current issues in the field, including the direction and challenges of multicultural education for youth from immigrant backgrounds, bridging the digital divide, and reorganizing local care cooperation networks.
The future vision session will address career support systems that link Siheung's future industries, such as bioindustry, with education. Discussions will include discovering quality jobs based on future industries, restructuring educational spaces connected to new career paths such as bioindustry and smart farms, and establishing governance for environmental education in response to the climate crisis.
The ten detailed sessions will continue from December 1 to December 8. The educational welfare division will cover ▲ strategies for promoting an integrated educational welfare support network, and ▲ the present and future of support for marginalized groups such as slow learners. The educational administration division will discuss ▲ proposals and implementation plans for mutual sharing of school and community parking lots. Additional sessions include ▲ the development and case studies of Siheung-style environmental education curriculum (climate environment division), ▲ strategies for advancing as an educational city through education (K-Education City division), and ▲ inclusive education for learning for all in the multicultural era (youth with immigrant backgrounds division). The event will also feature related sessions such as the 'Siheung Shared School Parent Information Session' and the '2026 Siheung Education Policy and One-Click System Project Briefing.'
Those wishing to participate in the forum can apply via the announcements on the 'Siheung SSOC website' and the 'Siheung Office of Education website.' For further details, please contact the Education Autonomy Division of Siheung City or the Siheung Office of Education.
