"Health Impacts of Climate Change"... Sejong City to Hold Carbon Neutral Transition Forum

Sejong City will hold the 6th Sejong Carbon Neutral Transition Forum on November 13 at the Multipurpose Hall of Haengbok Nureumteo in Sodam-dong.


This forum is hosted by Sejong City and co-organized by the Sejong Lifelong Education and Policy Research Institute, the Sejong Carbon Neutral Support Center, and the Eco-Up Innovation Convergence University Project Group at Korea University (Sejong Campus).


With the theme "Healthy Climate Adaptation for Sejong Citizens in the Era of Climate Change," the forum will discuss the impact of climate change on citizens' health and daily lives, as well as climate adaptation and response strategies at the local level.

After the opening ceremony in Part 1, the first presentation of Part 2 will be delivered by Kim Jongheon, a professor at Sungkyunkwan University, on the topic of "Health Impacts of Climate Change." This will be followed by Kim Yoonjung, Associate Research Fellow at the Korea Environment Institute, who will present "Climate Justice Issues and Response Strategies from the Perspective of Quality of Life."


Lee Jeongha, a student at Korea University who received the Minister of Education Award at the 2024 Eco-Up Zero Waste Idea Competition, will give a special presentation titled "Small Technologies to Support Carbon Neutral Transition: 3D-Printed Water Filters." Following this, there will be a discussion session led by Bae Hyunjoo, Senior Research Fellow at the Korea Environment Institute, where experts from various fields will discuss topics such as the impact of climate change on human health and related health policies and response strategies.


Citizens wishing to attend the forum can register in advance by accessing the QR code on the promotional materials or register on-site. This forum will be a zero single-use event, with materials provided in electronic files and the use of disposable products restricted at the venue.
