Jung wrote, "You lived to be 100, enduring the Japanese colonial era and the Korean War. I can only imagine how much pain and hardship you went through. There must have been more lonely and sorrowful days than happy ones," expressing both respect and sorrow for his grandfather's life.

The photo released by Jung shows his grandfather's portrait alongside the "Korean War Veteran National Merit Certificate." The certificate contains a message honoring the deceased's dedication to the country.

He added, "I hope you can now rest peacefully in a better place with Grandma, where there are no more tears. Thank you for being my grandfather."
