Establishing a Trusted Nursing Home
Through Professionalism and Community Sharing
The Deokeun Sarang Nursing Home (Director Yoo Yonghee) in Nonsan, Chungcheongnam-do, has emerged as a 'model institution' for regional welfare this year through a series of awards and social contribution activities.
After winning awards at the Long-Term Care Institution Competition for three consecutive years, the nursing home has swept commendations from public institutions including the National Police Agency, the Chungcheongnam-do Provincial Council, and Nonsan City, earning recognition for both its professionalism and reliability as a care facility.
The Deokeun Sarang Nursing Home and its affiliated Match Match Daycare Center announced on the 9th that they have received awards for three consecutive years at the 'Long-Term Care Law and Notification Competition' hosted by the Daejeon, Sejong, and Chungcheong Regional Headquarters of the National Health Insurance Service.
They set a record as the only institution among over 800 in the jurisdiction to win for three consecutive years, receiving the Grand Prize in the nursing facility category in 2022, the Grand Prize in the home-based long-term care institution category in 2023, and the Grand Prize in the nursing facility category again in 2025.
In April this year, the institution was selected as a 'Green Institution' by the National Health Insurance Service-an honor given to only 1% (330 institutions) out of more than 44,000 long-term care institutions nationwide.
During the same month, it received a commendation from the Commissioner General of the National Police Agency, followed by the Chairman's Award from the Chungcheongnam-do Provincial Council in June, and a plaque of appreciation from the Mayor of Nonsan in November (for excellence in infection control), setting an example in welfare administration, infection control, and overall institutional management.
The Deokeun Sarang Nursing Home is realizing 'care rooted in respect and trust' based on professional staff and systematic service quality.
Notably, in July, despite record-breaking heat waves, the institution hosted a 'Heat Wave Relief Sharing Food Truck Event,' inviting over 600 people-including seniors, staff, local welfare workers, and people with disabilities-and provided them with cold beverages and snacks, delivering a warm message to the local community.
Director Yoo Yonghee, who received a Prime Minister's Commendation last year, has continued to receive recognition from various organizations this year, establishing himself as a leading figure in the welfare field.
He stated, "We will create an institution where seniors are respected, staff are happy, and trust is built in the field of welfare," adding, "We aim to set a new standard for nursing care in Korea where professionalism and sharing coexist."
