Due to this incident, downbound Gyeongui-Jungang Line commuter trains (toward Cheongnyangni) are passing through Yongsan Station without stopping, while upbound trains are operating as usual.

ITX trains on the Gyeongchun Line have suspended operations between Yongsan and Cheongnyangni, but trains bound for Chuncheon are running normally from Cheongnyangni Station.

KTX and regular trains on the Gyeongbu Line are operating as usual.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has urgently dispatched the Director of Railway Safety Policy, railway safety supervisors, railway police, investigators from the Aviation and Railway Accident Investigation Board, and inspectors from the Korea Transportation Safety Authority to the site.

The Ministry stated, "We have immediately set up the Railway Disaster Safety Situation Room and are making every effort to manage the aftermath, investigate the cause, and resume safe train operations."
