Lee Siyoung Gives Birth to Second Child Conceived with Ex-Husband's Frozen Embryo: "I Consider It a Gift"

Actress Lee Siyoung has given birth to her second daughter, conceived through a frozen embryo with her ex-husband.

On November 5, Lee Siyoung announced the birth of her second child through her social media account.

Along with a photo of herself holding her second child, she wrote, "I believe this is a gift from God to me as a mother. I will make sure Jungyoon and Siksiki (the baby's prenatal nickname) are happy for the rest of their lives."

Lee Siyoung married businessman A, who is nine years older than her, in 2017, and gave birth to a son in January the following year. However, after eight years of marriage, they divorced in March of this year.

During her marriage, she had embryos frozen. While the divorce proceedings were ongoing, she became pregnant through in vitro fertilization without A's consent.

In July, Lee Siyoung revealed her pregnancy, explaining, "During my marriage, I prepared for a second child through in vitro fertilization, but a long time passed without actually implanting the fertilized embryo, and naturally, discussions about divorce also began to take place."

She continued, "Around the time when all legal matters were being settled, the five-year storage period for the frozen embryo was about to expire, and I had to make a decision. Just before the embryo was to be discarded, I personally decided to have it implanted. Although the other party did not agree, I intend to fully bear the weight of the decision I made."
