On-site Promotional Event at the War Memorial of Korea in Yongsan on November 15
The Seoul City Center Tourism Council (Chairperson: Park Heeyoung, Mayor of Yongsan District) will host the "Seoul City Center Six Districts Tourism Promotion Event" at the Peace Plaza of the War Memorial of Korea in Yongsan on November 15 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The council is an administrative consultative body formed in 2019 by six autonomous districts-Yongsan, Jongno, Jung, Seongbuk, Seodaemun, and Mapo-to promote cooperation and joint development in the tourism sector. It aims to discover interconnected tourism resources among city centers and to spread historical and cultural value. This year, the council is chaired by Park Heeyoung, Mayor of Yongsan District.
This event expands the council's joint initiatives, which have previously been conducted mainly online, into an on-site promotional event with active participation from tourists. On the day of the event, each district will operate a promotional booth to distribute tourist maps and promotional materials, display key attractions, and screen promotional videos. In addition, souvenirs will be provided to visitors who participate in the event.
In particular, the event is expected to create a synergy effect by being held in conjunction with the health experience and cultural event "2025 Dureondureon Yongsan," which takes place on the same day. Through this on-site promotion, the council plans to widely publicize the main tourism resources of the six districts, attract more domestic and international tourists, and thereby contribute to revitalizing the local economy.
Park Heeyoung, Chairperson of the Seoul City Center Tourism Council, stated, "I hope that citizens and tourists will be able to experience the charm and unique characteristics of the six city center districts all in one place," adding, "I look forward to this event leading to actual visits."
