Gifts Presented to the 8 Millionth Visitor
The National Busan Science Museum (Director Song Samjong) surpassed a cumulative total of 8 million visitors on November 5, setting a new milestone just ahead of its 10th anniversary. To commemorate this achievement, the museum held a surprise event for the 8 millionth visitor.
On that day, a celebratory event was held in the lobby on the first floor of the museum, where cultural gift certificates and commemorative gifts were presented to three groups: the 8 millionth visitor and the visitors immediately before and after.
The lucky winner was Ahn Sucheol (36), a resident of Gijang-gun, Busan. He said, "I recently moved to Busan and this was my first visit, so it is an honor to be here on such a meaningful day. Thanks to this, I feel like I have settled well in Busan. I plan to visit often with my family in the future."
Park Bom (36) from Dong-gu, Ulsan, who narrowly missed being the 8 millionth visitor, said, "I have four children, and my eldest especially loves the National Busan Science Museum. It is always a fun place because we can experience a variety of science content."
Song Samjong, Director of the National Busan Science Museum, stated, "Reaching 8 million visitors is a result of the continuous interest and support from citizens. As our 10th anniversary slogan says, 'Beyond Imagination, Into the Future,' we will continue to grow together with the public by providing future-oriented science and culture content."
Since its opening on December 11, 2015, the National Busan Science Museum has established itself as a key national science museum for the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam regions. Through a variety of exhibitions, educational programs, and hands-on experiences, it has led the spread of science culture in the region and is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.
