Naver is set to fully implement artificial intelligence (AI) agents across its major services. Moving beyond its previous strategy of simply integrating AI into services, the company will now deploy "agentic AI" throughout its platforms, enabling the prediction of user behavior and the execution of actual tasks. In addition, Naver unveiled its strategy to enhance AI transformation (AX) competitiveness in manufacturing industries such as semiconductors and automobiles through physical AI.

On the morning of November 6, at Naver's integrated conference 'DAN25' held at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, CEO Choi Soo-yeon announced, "Based on our accumulated experience and technological capabilities, we will sequentially introduce advanced agents to key services such as shopping, search, and advertising."

On this day, Naver unveiled 'Agent N,' a new platform that integrates data and technology infrastructure across all its services. Agent N is designed to understand user context, predict and suggest the next action, and even execute tasks. Since last year, Naver has been advancing its vertical (specialized) AI capabilities in each domain through its 'On-Service AI' strategy, which applies AI across all services.

Based on this, Naver plans to launch a shopping agent in the Naver Plus Store in the first quarter of next year. In the second quarter, the company will introduce the 'AI Tab,' a comprehensive search feature powered entirely by AI agents. Kim Beom-jun, Naver's Chief Operating Officer in charge of the Agent N project, explained, "The shopping agent has built a highly reliable data infrastructure, including reviews that can only be left by actual buyers and reservers, as well as inventory data directly linked to sellers. We have also established a technical verification system to analyze this data."

CEO Choi emphasized, "Users will no longer have to worry about what search terms to enter. Through conversations with Agent N, the AI agent will understand the user's intent, connect them to the desired content, products, or services, and even carry out actual actions."

Naver will also introduce AI agents for business-to-business (B2B) applications. Starting next year, the company will sequentially launch the integrated business agent, 'Agent N for Business.' Lee Jong-min, Head of Naver's Advertising Business Division, said, "Naver's business agent is an AI solution for all business operators, including shopping, advertising, and place services. By integrating previously fragmented business solutions and data, it will help operators analyze their business environments and diagnose and improve their current status based on AI."

Establishing a Physical AI Testbed... 1 Trillion Won Investment in GPUs

To strengthen the competitiveness of its AI ecosystem, Naver is expanding infrastructure investments, including data centers and graphics processing units (GPUs). The company plans to invest over 1 trillion won in GPUs by 2026. In addition, a physical AI testbed connecting Naver's headquarters, '1784,' with the 'Gak Sejong' data center will soon be operational.

CEO Choi stressed, "By combining Naver's AI software capabilities with the competitiveness of Korea's core manufacturing industries such as semiconductors, automobiles, and shipbuilding, we will accelerate AI transformation and innovation across the entire Korean industry. With our full-stack AI technological capabilities, we aim to help Korea become one of the world's top three AI powerhouses."

Kim Yuwon, CEO of Naver Cloud, also took the stage to announce the company's industrial AI strategy, including industry-specific AI and global market expansion. He explained, "AI is a core infrastructure that determines industrial competitiveness. As a company that understands the native language, data, and industrial structure of our country, Naver is building vertical AI models for each industry based on Sovereign AI 2.0."

Naver Cloud is building an industry-specialized AI ecosystem through physical AI technology that operates in the field. Physical AI refers to AI that interacts with the physical world and can act proactively like a human on-site. CEO Kim emphasized, "By collaborating with companies in key industries such as shipbuilding, energy, and bio, we are advancing the use of AI throughout the entire manufacturing process. At the same time, we will expand our technology to global markets such as Saudi Arabia, Thailand, and Japan, broadening our references for Sovereign AI."

Meanwhile, CEO Choi stated regarding the social contribution program 'Naver Impact,' "We will continue to support AI education and technology to bridge the gap, helping small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), creators, and local businesses boost productivity and take on the global market with AI."

Naver is also introducing a new program to reward creators for their contributions to the AI ecosystem. Next year, the company plans to allocate 200 billion won for content investment and creator rewards. The number of creators benefiting from the reward program increased to 610,000 this year. In addition, Naver will support creators in utilizing technologies such as AI and extended reality (XR). Lee Jae-hoo, Head of the Naver App Service Division, said, "Through AI and XR technology, creators will be able to expand the scope of their work, and users will experience hyper-immersive and hyper-realistic content."
