Curz Targets North American Luxury Market
Develops Meditation Content Linked to Biometric Data
"A system that understands space proposes art." Jinsam Keoz, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Curz, who developed the media art platform 'WAA (Where Art's Alive),' described their AI-based spatial analysis technology in these terms.
On the 6th (local time) in Los Angeles, USA, at 'U-KNOCK 2025 in USA' hosted by the Korea Creative Content Agency, he stated, "Our goal is to target the North American luxury space market."
WAA recognizes spatial images and analyzes visual elements such as color, texture, lighting, and layout. It matches these with thousands of artworks stored in its proprietary database, recommending the pieces that best suit the physical conditions and mood of the space.
Most luxury hotel chains and commercial facilities in North America have their own design teams. However, he explained, "These design teams primarily use screens as information delivery media, focusing on graphics and signage work. It is difficult for them to directly produce media art that shapes the mood of a space, so they often use stock images or videos instead."
WAA is a solution that combines an AI-based, space-customized curation system with a high-resolution media art IP library containing more than 1,000 pieces. Clients can easily introduce artworks that align with their brand identity without the need for separate production staff.
Curz is also developing emotion-based visual meditation content called 'Visual Meditation.' Unlike existing meditation apps that focus on sound, this service centers on a 'visual breathing experience' and was piloted on the Samsung TV platform.
CTO Jin explained, "It is an interactive meditation system where content responds in real time by recognizing biometric data such as heart rate." He added, "AI will recommend meditation and create visual changes tailored to each individual's biological rhythm, providing a new type of experience. We are aiming for a public unveiling at CES next year."
Curz is incorporated in Delaware, USA, and operates dual bases in New York and Los Angeles. New York is suitable for art and design-focused brand collaborations, while Los Angeles has strengths in expanding content based on media and entertainment.
WAA is offered as a monthly or annual subscription model. Discounts are available for annual subscriptions, and installation fees are charged separately. Both permanent installations and short-term rentals are possible, allowing for replacement according to space renewal or seasonal themes.
Curz received the 'iF Design Award,' one of the world's top three design awards. CTO Jin said, "At a stage where we do not yet have many business records with local companies, winning the award indirectly demonstrates that we are a company with design and technological capabilities that meet global standards."
He cited building trust as the biggest challenge in entering the North American market. "In North America, local performance and references are extremely important," he said. "It takes some time to persuade clients during the initial negotiation phase." For the time being, he plans to spend more time locally to focus on building rapport and trust.
