Creating New Vitality for the Local Economy and Tourism
Through Cultural Appeal and Creative Content
Sacheon City in South Gyeongsang Province will host a special event called 'Culture Pool Market Choyang' for local residents and tourists from November 8 to 9 at Choyangdo, where the Aramaru Aquarium is located.
The Culture Pool Market is a culture, arts, and market event in the format of a flea market, where a variety of creators, handicraft artists, artists, and food trucks gather to provide a venue for sales, hands-on experiences, and exchange.
This event has been planned as part of a local economic revitalization project selected for the 2024 Ministry of the Interior and Safety public contest, aiming to inject new energy into the local economy and tourism through Sacheon's cultural appeal and creative content.
The market event will be held at the plaza in front of the Sacheon Eye Ferris Wheel, located within Choyangdo, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, respectively.
Eleven small business teams from the Sacheon and Jinju regions are scheduled to sell various handmade items and carefully crafted homemade foods. In addition, free hands-on activities such as face painting and fancy woodcraft will also be available.
In particular, in the area around the Choyangdo power distribution observatory, busking performances will offer sweet music to citizens and tourists from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.
The city expects that this on-site event, where artists and consumers can meet and communicate directly, will allow people to enjoy cultural sensibility and lifestyle moments of relaxation in their daily lives.
Mayor Park Dongsik said, "Through this event, we hope to provide a venue for communication and exchange between local residents and tourists, and to use the diverse programs as an opportunity to enhance the city's appeal and tourism competitiveness."
