"Small Business Owners Are the Power of the Local Economy"... Yangsan City Hosts Harmony Festival

November 7-8 at Yangsan Youth Street, Jungbu-dong Area

A festival where small business owners from Gyeongnam can gather, enjoy, and communicate will take place.

Yangsan City in Gyeongnam announced that on November 7 and 8, the "2025 Gyeongnam Small Business Owners' Day Commemoration Ceremony and Harmony Festival" will be held at "Yangsan Youth Street," Gyeongnam’s first specialized street for small business owners. The event is hosted and organized by Gyeongnam Province and the Gyeongnam Small Business Owners’ Association, with support from Yangsan City.

This event is designed to encourage small business owners who are struggling due to the economic downturn, shrinking consumption, and delayed domestic recovery. It also aims to promote products from local small businesses in Gyeongnam and revitalize the local commercial district.

In particular, the event holds greater significance as it will be held at Yangsan Youth Street, which was designated as Gyeongnam’s first specialized street for small business owners earlier this year.

The Yangsan Youth Street Operations Committee (Chairman Kim Seungkwon) has created Shop Square and Star Square as pedestrian-only areas in Jungbu-dong, where busking performances are held every week and competitions are organized annually.

The Gyeongnam Small Business Owners' Day commemoration ceremony will begin at 3:30 p.m. on November 8 with a pre-event performance, followed by the opening ceremony, an awards ceremony, and scholarship presentations.

Side events include the Chimaek Festival at Shop Square and K-pop busking performances at both Shop Square and Star Square, each starting at 6:00 p.m. on November 7 and 8. Notably, Babelrator, a pull-up exercise YouTuber with 420,000 subscribers, will host a pull-up competition open to citizens at Shop Square for about two hours from 5:00 p.m. on November 8, which is expected to further energize the event.

A city official said, "We hope for the active interest and participation of many citizens in this event to support small business owners and revitalize the local economy. We expect this to be an opportunity to boost the pride of small business owners, achieve greater growth together, strengthen the competitiveness of local businesses, and inject new vitality into the regional economy."
