Severe traffic congestion is expected in central Seoul this coming weekend due to large-scale rallies and marches.

Large-Scale Rallies and Marches in Seoul Over the Weekend... Police Urge Use of Public Transportation Yonhap News Agency

According to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, on November 8, stages for rallies will be set up in the areas of Sejong-daero, Jangchungdan-ro, and Euljiro in the morning. In the afternoon, a large-scale rally with tens of thousands of participants will be held on Jangchungdan-ro (from the DDP intersection to the Heunginjimun intersection), followed by a march toward Jongno and Euljiro.

To minimize traffic congestion caused by the rallies, the police will operate reversible lanes on Sejong-daero and Jangchungdan-ro. If labor groups march toward Jongno, vehicle flow will be adjusted from the Jongno 2-ga intersection toward the Heunginjimun intersection.

In addition, all vehicle traffic will be completely restricted from the DDP intersection to the Euljiro 1-ga intersection. In the Yeouido area, the police plan to operate reversible lanes on the opposite side of Yeouidaero from the rally in order to disperse traffic congestion.

To reduce inconvenience to citizens caused by traffic congestion, the police will deploy approximately 330 traffic officers at different times throughout the southern, northern, and eastern parts of the city.

A police official stated, "Severe congestion is expected on major roads," and emphasized, "We strongly recommend using public transportation such as the subway to avoid the congestion."
