A Warm Atmosphere Fostered by Scholarship Donation
Strengthening Everyday Communication Through Visits to 21 Towns and Districts
Gumi City in North Gyeongsang Province will operate the "Gumi Mayor's Neighborhood On(day)" program for two months starting in early November, visiting 21 towns and districts to continue on-site communication with citizens.
This schedule marks the resumption of on-site communication that had been postponed due to elections in the first half of the year. It is part of the city's field administration efforts to directly assess local conditions and explore development directions together with citizens.
The first event took place on November 4 at the Yangpo-dong Administrative Welfare Center. Before the resident meeting, the Yangpo-dong Association of Community Leaders donated 8 million KRW in scholarships to the city to nurture future local talent, creating a warm atmosphere.
During the subsequent resident meeting, various suggestions were raised, including improvements to the transportation environment, road maintenance, and the expansion of living infrastructure. Lively discussions were held on development strategies suitable for the rapid growth of Yangpo-dong.

The city is focusing this round of town and district visits on realizing communication-centered administration based on everyday life. The city will simultaneously check the progress of key local projects, listen to residents' suggestions, and discuss solutions to inconveniences. All proposed tasks will be thoroughly reviewed from the citizens' perspective and prompt feedback will be provided.
Mayor Kim Jangho stated, "Citizens are at the heart of administration. As we approach the end of the year, I will do my utmost to listen to the voices of the community and swiftly resolve any inconveniences."
Gumi City plans to actively reflect the residents' opinions collected through this on-site communication in municipal policies and will continue to pursue participatory field administration that solves problems together with citizens.
