Guri City Launches 100,000-Step 'WalkOn' Challenge in Galmae-dong
Mobile Coupons Awarded to 100 Participants by Lottery
Guri City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyunghyun) announced on November 5 that it will operate the 'Galmae-dong Smart Healthcare Zone Usage Certification Challenge' for 20 days, from November 11 to November 30, to promote a culture where residents measure and manage their own health.
This challenge is a program designed to enable residents to check their health status and practice self-directed healthy living by utilizing the 'Smart Healthcare Zone for the Whole Family' located on the third floor of the Galmae-dong Complex Government Building.
The 'Smart Healthcare Zone for the Whole Family' is a comprehensive health management space where residents can easily and conveniently measure blood pressure, height, weight, body composition, muscle mass, and stress index using the latest medical equipment based on information and communications technology (ICT).
The measurement results are automatically recorded by linking with a mobile app, and residents can receive personalized health change reports and analysis services based on the accumulated data over a certain period.
Citizens who wish to participate in the challenge must join the Galmae-dong community on the mobile app 'WalkOn' and complete two tasks: ▲ walking 100,000 steps within the challenge period (with a maximum of 10,000 steps recognized per day), and ▲ submitting a photo certification of a health measurement at the Galmae-dong Smart Healthcare Zone. Among those who complete all tasks, 100 participants will be selected by lottery to receive a mobile beverage coupon.
Baek Kyunghyun, Mayor of Guri City, stated, "Through this challenge, I hope that Galmae-dong residents will develop the habit of measuring and managing their own health. We will continue to discover and operate health lifestyle programs that citizens can enjoy and participate in as part of their daily lives."
Meanwhile, to improve accessibility for citizens, Guri City is currently installing and operating advanced health management equipment in five key areas, enabling anyone to easily access personalized health management services close to home.
