Recognized for Advancing Security Awareness and Community Development
A Double Honor for Both the Association and Its Chairman
Moon Kwangju, Chairman of the Goryeong County Veterans Association in North Gyeongsang Province, received the Prime Minister's Commendation at the 2025 Government Awards Ceremony held at the North Gyeongsang Veterans Hall on November 3, in recognition of his contributions to raising national security awareness and advancing the local community.

This award follows last month's recognition of the Goryeong County Veterans Association as an "Outstanding Association of the Republic of Korea," for which the group received a collective commendation. With Chairman Moon also receiving an individual commendation, this achievement is being celebrated as a double honor, acknowledging the efforts of both the association and its leader.
Chairman Moon joined the Goryeong County Veterans Association in 2010 and took office as its 25th chairman in 2023. Since then, he has worked to strengthen security awareness among local residents, guided by a strong sense of patriotism and dedication to the community.
He has also led initiatives such as operating security field experience programs, volunteering for underprivileged groups, and organizing events to promote unity among members, thereby spearheading the spread of a participatory security culture among county residents.
Chairman Moon stated, "This award is not a personal honor, but the result of all members of the Goryeong County Veterans Association working together for the development of our community and the practice of patriotism. I will continue to dedicate myself to the region and the country with unwavering commitment to security."
