Yangsan City Accelerates Localization of Aerospace Materials... Holds Demonstration Support Project Briefing for Companies

Sharing Practical Information on Entry Strategies for Local Companies in the Aerospace Industry and International Certification

On November 4, Yangsan City in South Gyeongsang Province explored ways for local companies to enter the aerospace industry by participating in the 'Aerospace Materials Localization Demonstration Support Project Corporate Briefing Session' held at the Yangsan Business Center. The event was hosted by the Gyeongnam Center of the Korea Conformity Laboratories (KCL).

This briefing session, attended by more than 20 local materials and parts companies, was organized as part of Yangsan's ongoing 'Super-Gap Technology Development and Demonstration Project for Sealant Materials for Space, Aerospace, and Defense Industries.'

The project aims to localize high-performance sealants, a key material for aircraft that has so far been entirely dependent on imports, with the goal of stabilizing the domestic supply chain.

During the session, KCL introduced the current status of the Aerospace Materials Demonstration Support Center, which will be established at the Yangsan Innovation Support Center, and presented a variety of corporate support programs. The organization also proposed ways to help companies successfully enter the aerospace industry.

Subsequent presentations, in collaboration with Gyeongnam Technopark, covered topics such as ▲ challenges in aerospace materials technology development and localization strategies ▲ the structure of the aerospace industry and entry processes ▲ guidance on international certification standards ▲ examples of localization development and corporate support projects. These provided local companies with practical information necessary for entering the aerospace sector.

During the Q&A session, company representatives in attendance shared the challenges they face in the field and discussed specific cooperation plans with KCL, demonstrating strong interest in entering the aerospace industry.

A Yangsan City official stated, "The briefing session was a meaningful opportunity for outstanding local materials and parts companies to obtain practical information needed to advance into the high value-added aerospace industry," adding, "We will continue to provide strong support to enhance the competitiveness of local businesses."
