At Maelgeunmul Sangsangnuri in Jeongwang-dong
A Fusion of Storytelling and Arts & Culture
Siheung City in Gyeonggi Province will host the "Suspicious Village - Village Purification Operation" festival, which was selected for the Regional Specialized Tourism Festival Support Program, on November 8 at the Maelgeunmul Sangsangnuri area in Jeongwang-dong.
Organized by the Siheung City Youth Arts Association, this event goes beyond traditional stage-centered performances and will be held as a new type of participatory, content-driven festival where participants become the main characters.
This festival is a storytelling event that begins with the imagination of an unidentified contaminant taking over the village. It depicts citizens directly purifying pollution-which, if left unattended, rots, spreads, and creates viruses-through artistic and cultural experiences.
Visitors can enjoy a variety of experiences, from escape room games set up in real spaces designed as laboratories, to live performances where actors continue the narrative throughout the village, as well as dalgona and cotton candy making for children, and a beaded bracelet mission activity.
The venue will also feature a "Delivery Zone" in collaboration with local businesses, along with a receipt reward program. If visitors present receipts from purchases made at nearby commercial districts such as Baegot, Jeongwang, Oido, and Turtle Island at the festival booth, they will receive experience vouchers.
