The Dongducheon City Public Health Center in Gyeonggi Province announced on November 5 that it will conduct a comprehensive eligibility review in November for recipients of the diaper and infant formula support program for low-income households.
This review aims to ensure the proper implementation of the support program, which is designed to alleviate the financial burden on low-income families with infants under the age of two. The city provides 90,000 won per month for diaper purchases and 110,000 won per month for infant formula purchases.
Recipients are required to undergo a comprehensive eligibility review twice a year to confirm whether they continue to meet the criteria. The review covers 164 individuals who applied after December 1, 2023, and have received continuous support for more than three months.
The eligibility verification process consists of: ▲re-examining whether recipients meet the eligibility and income criteria; ▲issuing an 'advance notice' if a recipient loses eligibility or exceeds the income threshold; and ▲providing guidance on the objection process. If support is discontinued, recipients may submit an objection form and supporting documents to the relevant public health center within 20 days of receiving the notification.
A public health center official stated, "If your income increases or the number of family members changes while using the service, you must report it to the public health center within 14 days," adding, "We will prevent improper benefit claims through regular eligibility checks."
