This event was organized to build public support for the construction of the Pocheon City Museum and to provide citizens with opportunities to enjoy high-quality cultural experiences.
Inspired by the globally acclaimed animation "K-Pop Demon Hunters," the concert featured a stage that reinterpreted Pocheon's folklore and traditional stories with a modern sensibility.
Through a lecture on "Pocheon Folklore" by author Kwak Jaesik, the audience was introduced to the region's history and traditions in an engaging and accessible manner. The event also included a pansori performance, a K-pop dance performance, and a citizen-participation talk program, creating a unique stage that harmonized tradition and modernity.
Approximately 200 people, including local residents, youth, and families, attended the concert, taking the opportunity to rediscover Pocheon's unique folklore as cultural content.
Mayor Baek Younghyun stated, "It was a meaningful occasion where citizens could come together and experience Pocheon's folklore in a new way. Going forward, we will continue to develop Pocheon into a culturally sophisticated city where everyone can feel proud, centering on the construction of the Pocheon City Museum and the succession and development of our history and culture."
Meanwhile, Pocheon City completed discussions with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism regarding the establishment of a public museum in July, and in October submitted an application for a feasibility assessment to Gyeonggi Province, with the evaluation process currently underway.
