Daegu is a leading domestic hub for machinery and robotics, medical devices, and eco-friendly industries. The city is focusing on nurturing five major next-generation industries: artificial intelligence, big data, blockchain (ABB), robotics, semiconductors, future mobility, and healthcare.
The meeting was attended by Kang Seokjin, Chairman of the Small and Medium Business Corporation, Choi Jaehyuk, CEO of Megacom, Kim Mangu, CEO of HRT Robotics, and representatives from 11 promising small and medium-sized enterprises representing the Daegu region.
The participating companies emphasized the need for field-oriented policy support through collaboration among related organizations, especially as internal and external business conditions worsen due to economic stagnation and global supply chain issues. The Small and Medium Business Corporation plans to actively incorporate the feedback gathered at this meeting into the restructuring of support programs and the development of new initiatives.
After the meeting, the participants visited the Megacom facility to continue on-site communication. Celebrating its 19th anniversary this year, Megacom is a manufacturer of energy-saving air compressors. The company introduced its efforts to achieve carbon neutrality and reduce power consumption through the development of high-efficiency equipment, and stressed the urgent need for expanded policy support to help small and medium-sized enterprises overcome management crises and stimulate investment.
Kang Seokjin, Chairman of the Small and Medium Business Corporation, stated, "We will support the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises and the revitalization of the local economy through effective policy support."
