Strengthening On-Site Response and Technical Competitiveness
Spotlight on Research Achievements Integrating Advanced Technology

Busan Transportation Corporation (President Lee Byungjin) concluded the "2025 Technology Competition and Research Presentation," which was held over two days from October 28 to 29.

The corporation has been strengthening employees' on-site response capabilities and technical skills every year through the technology competition and research presentation.

This year's event brought together employees from nine fields, including control, train operation, rolling stock, electricity, equipment, signaling, communications, and facilities. Participants assessed their ability to respond to various accidents and unusual situations that may occur during urban rail operations and shared their technical expertise.

In the technology competition, 17 teams competed across five core areas essential for safe urban rail operation: train operation, electricity, signaling, communications, and facilities. In the electricity category, recovery drills were conducted simulating real-life accident scenarios, such as motor car derailments and underground catenary wire breakages, to verify the participants' practical problem-solving skills.

The research presentation featured a total of 33 teams from nine fields, sharing research achievements in three areas: training, research and development, and improvement and refinement. In the train operation field, a plan to establish a metaverse-based safety training environment using virtual reality (VR) technology was presented, drawing attention as an innovative example of integrating advanced technology into safety practices.

Lee Byungjin, President of Busan Transportation Corporation, stated, "Passenger safety must take precedence over any other value," adding, "This competition was a meaningful opportunity for employees to share the technical skills and experience they have accumulated in the field and to strengthen their problem-solving abilities focused on accident prevention. Through internal competitions, we will continue to promote a culture of safety and do our utmost to provide urban rail services that citizens can trust."
