Gangseo-gu Promotes Good Price Stores on Hwagok Station Electronic Billboard

Free Customized Advertising for Small Business Owners Offered for One Month

Gangseo-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jin Kyohun), announced on November 5 that it has been broadcasting advertisements for local “Good Price Stores” free of charge on the electronic bulletin board at Hwagok Station on Subway Line 5, starting from November 1, in an effort to support small business owners.

The district has selected five “Good Price Stores,” produced customized advertisements for each, and will broadcast them for one month. The advertisements were created following individual consultations, and each store’s ad will be aired for 15 seconds per exposure, approximately 150 times per day, from 7 a.m. to midnight daily.

“Good Price Stores” are businesses that offer prices lower than the regional average while maintaining hygiene and providing friendly service, selected according to criteria set by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. In Gangseo-gu, a total of 94 establishments-including restaurants and beauty salons-have been designated as such. The district provides various incentives to these designated stores, including subsidies for purchasing essential items and support for volume-based garbage bags.

The electronic bulletin board at Hwagok Station is located in a high foot traffic area, resulting in strong advertising effectiveness and high demand, with monthly ad slots often fully booked early. The district expects that this advertising campaign will provide small business owners with meaningful promotional opportunities and widely inform residents about Good Price Stores, thereby helping to ease the burden of living costs.

After the advertising period ends, the district plans to conduct a satisfaction survey and comprehensively review whether to expand the range of supported businesses and the duration of support in the future.

Jin Kyohun, Mayor of Gangseo-gu, stated, “We hope this initiative will provide small business owners with tangible promotional opportunities and help stabilize their operations and increase sales. We will continue to seek various support measures so that the local commercial district can regain vitality and establish a foundation for sustainable growth.”
