The Daegu Regional Employment and Labor Office (Acting Director Kim Sunjae), in collaboration with Daegu City, Gyeongbuk Province, and the Small and Medium Business Administration, will host the "2025 Daegu-Gyeongbuk Job Fair" at Exco in Daegu on November 5.
This job fair is a large-scale, regionally specialized recruitment event jointly organized by the central government (Ministry of Employment and Labor) and local governments. It aims to support local young job seekers in securing stable employment amid declining youth employment rates and an increasing number of young people classified as "not in employment," while also providing local companies with opportunities to recruit outstanding talent.
A total of 330 companies-including leading local firms such as ISU Petasys Co., Ltd., Pyeonghwa Oil Seal Industry Co., Ltd., and Daegu Tech Co., Ltd.-will participate, with 80 companies conducting on-site interviews and 250 companies conducting online interviews, collectively planning to hire around 900 people.
Job seekers can participate in interviews by making a reservation in advance. Those who have not made a reservation can also join by registering on-site.
In addition to on-site interviews, a variety of programs designed to assist young job seekers will be offered at the event venue.
In particular, 15 companies-including iM Bank, Korea Credit Guarantee Fund, and LIG Nex1 Co., Ltd.-will hold recruitment briefings, while 16 public institutions-including Korea Gas Safety Corporation, Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, and Korea Power Engineering Company, Inc.-will operate policy promotion booths.
Furthermore, companies such as Hanwha Systems Co., Ltd., Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd., POSCO Future M Co., Ltd., and the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Medical Innovation Foundation will establish and operate the "ABCDEF Industry Policy Hall," focusing on AI, bio, content, defense, energy, and advanced manufacturing-key sectors driving new growth under the current government. This will provide essential industry information to guide the growth of future generations.
A range of supplementary events will also be prepared to help job seekers address their employment concerns. These include one-on-one employment consulting, a special lecture by the popular YouTuber "Kimjakga TV," job search lectures, talk concerts, as well as various experiential programs such as personal color diagnosis, resume photo shoots, and VR job experiences.
Notably, this job fair will also operate "JOB Story Employment 24," which uses a "24-hour convenience store" concept. By entering their personal circumstances, job seekers can receive tailored employment policy information relevant to their situation, making it easier for them to access government job policy information as if shopping for products.
Kim Sunjae, Acting Director of the Daegu Regional Employment and Labor Office, stated, "Through this job fair, we hope to revitalize the stagnant local labor market and provide an opportunity for the younger generation to pursue employment with hope. We will continue to do our utmost to alleviate local employment challenges in the future."
