This training was organized to enable a swift response in the event of an accident involving a colleague at the scene.

The Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) was introduced by the National Fire Agency after a pilot operation in 2023. It is designed to respond quickly to incidents where fellow firefighters become trapped or isolated during field operations.

This year's training focused on practicing individual escape techniques, methods for transporting rescue targets, rope-assisted search methods, and search techniques in smoke-filled environments.

Since 2023, Changwon Fire Headquarters has formed and trained a Rapid Intervention Team. Starting this year, a task force was established to develop detailed training materials and educational plans, with an emphasis on practical and effective training implementation.

Chief Lee Sanggi of the Fire Headquarters stated, "Ensuring the safety of our personnel is paramount in disaster situations that are complex and rapidly changing," and added, "We will take the lead in systematic efforts to proactively address safety incidents involving our firefighters."
