On November 4, Hwaseong City announced that Hwaseong Seohaemaru Youth Hostel will begin pilot operations from November 15 to November 30.
This facility was built on a 14,580-square-meter site in the Gungpyeong Tourist Site area, with the city investing 56.1 billion won. The youth accommodation and stay facility consists of one basement floor and four above-ground floors, with a total floor area of 13,814 square meters. It features 103 rooms and can accommodate up to 358 people. To meet the needs of youth groups and tourists, the hostel offers a variety of room types, including rooms for two, four, and six people, as well as family rooms.
Most rooms are arranged to provide ocean views, allowing guests to enjoy sunsets and the mudflats. The facility is also equipped with amenities such as an outdoor swimming pool, a main auditorium, a restaurant, a book cafe, a sports experience area, and a self-catering kitchen.
The facility is open not only to youth but also to general tourists. During the pilot operation period, accommodation services will be offered at a 50% discounted rate. However, the use of certain amenities, such as the restaurant and convenience store, will be restricted, and only 30% to 50% of all rooms will be available for booking.
Those wishing to use the facility can make reservations through the online platform 'Booking.com' starting November 4. Group reservations can be made by phone.
The city plans to use this pilot operation period to review overall facility management and improve service quality by incorporating feedback from guests.
Jung Myunggeun, Mayor of Hwaseong City, stated, "Seohaemaru is a new type of integrated accommodation facility that combines youth experiential activities with West Sea tourism. Through the pilot operation, we will fully reflect the opinions of citizens and tourists to provide even higher quality services."
