"Plogging" is a combination of the Swedish word "plocka upp" and "jogging," and refers to an eco-friendly activity where people pick up litter while walking or jogging. As part of its ESG management efforts, Jeil Pharmaceutical has continued its plogging campaign this year following last year's initiative, taking the lead in protecting the local environment.
This event saw the participation of approximately 350 employees, with at least 50 designated as mandatory participants to encourage company-wide involvement. Participants walked the route from Baekam Factory to Gachangcheon, collecting various types of litter and waste discarded in the area, and contributed to cleaning up the local environment.
Through this plogging campaign, Jeil Pharmaceutical aimed to raise awareness about the importance of achieving carbon neutrality, spread the message that small actions in daily life can contribute to environmental protection, and establish a culture of practicing ESG management. These efforts have helped strengthen the company's image as a community-oriented business and contributed to building consensus on environmental protection.
Shim Sangyoung, Head of Production at Jeil Pharmaceutical, stated, "The Jeil Plogging campaign is part of our ongoing efforts to fulfill our corporate social responsibility and strengthen ESG management. We will continue to expand employee-participation ESG programs to take the lead in sustainable development and environmental protection."
