[NGO Now] Good People Holds 'GIVE RUN 2025 in Gumi'

Good People (Chairman Lee Yongki) successfully wrapped up the charity marathon event 'GIVE RUN 2025 in Gumi' for children and youth from vulnerable groups. The event, held on November 1 at the Nakdonggang Sports Park in Gumi, attracted around 2,700 citizens. Participants ran 5 km and 10 km courses, spreading the value of sharing. Cheerleader Park Giryang, who serves as a Good People Sharing Ambassador, joined as the event ambassador, while Mayor Kim Jangho of Gumi, National Assembly Members Koo Jageun and Kang Myunggu, and Kang Namgyu, President of the Gumi Social Workers Association, attended to celebrate the opening. All proceeds from the event will be used to provide quality breakfasts to children and youth in Gumi who are at risk of missing meals. Lee Wonbong, Vice Chairman of Good People, said, "We sincerely thank everyone who participated in 'GIVE RUN 2025 in Gumi' with warm hearts wishing for the healthy growth of our youth," adding, "Good People will continue to create positive change together with those who practice sharing through running." Good People plans to continue this spirit of giving by holding 'GIVE RUN 2025 in Busan' at Samnak Ecological Park on November 15 to promote the welfare of people with disabilities. Cheerleader Seo Hyunsook, a Good People Sharing Ambassador, will join as the event ambassador, and the event will be operated as a 'barrier-free' marathon so that both people with and without disabilities can enjoy it together.

On November 1, Habitat for Humanity Korea, together with Volvo Group Korea, held a launch ceremony for the second cohort of the university student volunteer group 'Volvo New Home Builders.' Thirty university student volunteers selected from across the country pledged to help children and the elderly in local communities live in safer and healthier housing environments. The volunteers will be divided into six teams and will carry out activities until February next year, participating in Habitat for Humanity Korea's construction volunteer work as well as executing their own team-planned projects. The main activities will take place in Changwon, where Volvo Construction Equipment Korea's production plant is located. A representative from Habitat for Humanity Korea said, "The strong commitment and creative planning abilities shown by the second cohort of the Volvo New Home Builders university student volunteer group will bring great vitality to the local community," adding, "We will work closely with Volvo Group Korea to deliver hope to housing-vulnerable neighbors through the active participation of the younger generation."

Hope Friends Korea Food for the Hungry International (Chairman Choi Changnam) held a commemorative event for its 30th anniversary of sponsorship, '30 Years Together, Continuing Hope,' and a sponsor experience program called 'Gidae House' at its headquarters in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, on November 1. The organization invited 70 long-term sponsors who have supported for 30 years or more to its headquarters to express gratitude. In the afternoon, an experiential event called 'Gidae House' was held, with about 200 sponsors and citizens participating. 'Gidae House,' conducted as a participatory event, utilized all floors of the headquarters and featured three main booths on the themes of ▲emergency relief ▲migrant background families ▲climate change response, as well as programs such as international snack tasting, overseas social product sales, and photo zones. Participants experienced each space through a 'stamp tour,' providing a vivid experience of the organization's projects. Choi Changnam, Chairman of Hope Friends Korea Food for the Hungry International, said, "We always contemplate how the sharing of our sponsors can continue and be passed on to the next generation," adding, "Through the positive experiences of the commemorative event and the Gidae House stamp tour, we hope that both our field projects and the spirit of sponsorship will continue and grow into even greater hope."
