Direct Policy Briefings on Busan Education
Customized Educational Support Boosts Parental Satisfaction
Busan's education system is becoming more accessible through on-site communication efforts.
Kim Seokjun, Superintendent of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, is personally leading a series of "on-site special lectures" for parents, aiming to improve their understanding of educational policies and strengthen their capacity to support their children's learning.
On November 3, the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seokjun) announced that, as part of its "on-site education administration" initiative, it is running a parent capacity-building training program at each of the five district education offices. This program combines special lectures by Superintendent Kim with presentations by experts in various fields.

This training has been well received, as it is tailored to reflect the needs of parents. It began at the Seobu District Education Office on October 29, and continued on October 31 in regions under the Dongnae and Nambu District Education Offices.
Each session was held at a different location: Lotte Department Store Gwangbok Branch (Seobu), the Educational Research and Information Institute (Dongnae), and the Nambu District Education Office (Nambu). Upcoming sessions are scheduled for November 7 at the Bukbu District Education Office auditorium and November 24 at the Haeundae District Education Office.
Each event attracted around 300 parents, demonstrating high levels of interest. Through Superintendent Kim's policy lectures, parents are given the opportunity to directly hear and understand the vision and main policy directions of Busan's education system. Each district education office has also designed practical programs tailored to local circumstances and parental interests.
Superintendent Kim Seokjun stated, "Educational change is achieved when students, teachers, and parents participate and collaborate together. We will continue to strengthen communication with parents and pursue educational policies that enable children to grow up healthy."
