Chanting "Yoon Again" at Chungam High School Festival Sparks Controversy
Posts Apology Video: "Deeply Sorry for Causing Harm"
Rapper Jung Sangsoo (41), who sparked controversy by chanting a slogan related to former President Yoon Suk-yeol at the Chungam High School festival in Seoul, issued an official apology just one day later.
On November 1, Jung posted an apology video on his social media, stating, "During my performance at the Chungam High School festival, I made a political statement that I should not have made," and added, "I sincerely apologize for causing harm to the faculty and students."
He continued, "I do not have any particular political inclination. I simply got carried away while trying to energize the stage," and said, "It was wrong a hundred, a thousand times. Please direct all criticism at me."
Previously, on October 31, during the Chungam High School festival "Chungamje," Jung conducted an impromptu interview with a student on stage and asked what the student was most proud of about the school. When the student answered, "The pride of Chungam High School is Yoon Suk-yeol," Jung responded by repeatedly shouting, "Yoon Again."

"Yoon Again" is a slogan used by some supporters who call for former President Yoon Suk-yeol to return to power. Approximately 1,000 people, including current students and students from other schools, attended the event.
The video capturing this scene quickly spread online, sparking criticism that "political statements are inappropriate at a school festival." The Chungam High School student council immediately released a statement clarifying, "This remark does not represent the official position of the school or the festival, nor was there any prior agreement," and emphasized that it was "an unscripted comment by Jung Sangsoo as an individual."
The student council also explained, "The student who answered 'Yoon Suk-yeol' on stage was not a Chungam High School student, but a student from another school," and appealed for people to stop criticizing Chungam High School students.
Lee Yoonchan, principal of Chungam High School, told OhmyNews, "I cannot hide my dismay that such an unexpected political provocation by a rapper invited by the student council occurred at the school festival." The school stated that they conveyed their protest to Jung Sangsoo's team after the event and are considering legal action if necessary.
Meanwhile, Jung Sangsoo became known to the public through Mnet's "Show Me the Money" series. He has since been booked and fined multiple times for various incidents, including assault and drunk driving.
