From Drone Light Shows to Celebratory Performances
Masan Marine Nuri Park was filled with cheers from citizens and tourists as the autumn night was colored with chrysanthemums.
Changwon Special City in South Gyeongsang Province announced the grand opening of the 25th Masan Gagopa Chrysanthemum Festival at the 3·15 Marine Nuri Park.
The opening ceremony, held on the afternoon of November 1, began with a kendo demonstration and performances by singers Choi Jina and Hooni Jung, heightening the festive atmosphere before the main event.
This was followed by a celebratory performance themed around the "Shining Chrysanthemum Garden." When the distinguished guests lit up the LED installation on stage together, the stage was bathed in enchanting light, creating a romantic autumn night ambiance.
In the night sky, 700 drones depicted images symbolizing Changwon, including the professional sports teams Changwon NC Dinos, LG Sakers, and Gyeongnam FC, as well as iconic landmarks such as Daryun Daejak, Yeojwacheon, and the K9, maximizing the festival's emotional impact.
The performances continued with popular singers Park Taehee, Happiness, Punch, and Jin Haeseong taking the stage one after another, further heating up the chrysanthemum-scented night. The audience enthusiastically cheered as they enjoyed the music, lights, and sea-themed stage production, celebrating the first night of the chrysanthemum festival together.
Jang Geumyong, Acting Mayor of Changwon Special City, stated, "This year's festival has invigorated the local economy by expanding the exhibition area and connecting with nearby tourist attractions such as the fish market and Dotseom Island. We will continue our efforts to develop new content and establish permanent exhibition spaces so that the Masan Gagopa Chrysanthemum Festival can grow into a global event."
The 25th Masan Gagopa Chrysanthemum Festival will run until November 9, featuring a variety of programs for citizens and tourists, including chrysanthemum exhibitions, fireworks shows, an indie music festival, and dance and cheerleading festivals.
